MICRODERMABRASION

Microdermabrasion (MDA)
is a safe and effective treatment to improve the appearance of the skin. The MDA gently remove the top most layer of dead skin cells through exfoliation. Patients can return to their daily routine immediately after the MDA without down time for healing or concerns about their appearance.

Microdermabrasion can be used to:
Treat acne
Smooth skin texture
Clean debris from pores
Clear blackheads
Rejuvenate skin
Improve sun damaged skin
Fade brown pigment

How does Microdermabrasion work?

Tiny crystals are forced through the MDA tubing onto the surface of the skin and then immediately vacuumed off through a suction tube in the same hand piece. In this process, exfoliation of dead skin cells occurs. The depth of the exfoliation is determined by the flow of the crystals. At low-pressure settings, the skin is gently exfoliated. At higher-pressure setting, exfoliating can extend into deeper layers of the skin.

Is Microdermabrasion safe?

Complications from Microdermabrasion are extremely rare. Common side effects may include mild redness for 1-2 hours following the procedure and mild transient discomfort during the procedure (similar to a cat’s tongue)

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments needed is variable depending upon:
The type of condition being treated
The severity of the condition
The desired results of the patient

Most patients require a series of 5-6 treatments at a 1-3 week interval. Once a patient has attained optimal results with their Microdermabrasion treatment series, we recommend maintenance MDA every 2-3 months to maintain excellent results.

What does it cost?

We offer a $50 consultation, at which time we can provide an estimate of cost for you.
