How does Restylane work?

Restylane is injected into the skin in small amounts with a very fine needle after a numbing cream is applied or a dental block is performed. When Restylane is injected into the skin it produces increased volume in the treated area that fills and smoothes lines and wrinkles; enhances facial contours, or enhances lip size and shape.

Is Restylane safe?

Restylane is natural and safe with no risk of allergic reaction or transmission of disease. It is a non-animal based, stabilized form of a natural substance found in the body, called hyaluronic acid. When Restylane is absorbed in the body it turns into water and carbon dioxide and disappears without leaving a trace. And because hyaluronic is a naturally occurring substance there is little risk of allergic reactions.

Immediately after the treatment you may experience slight redness, mild swelling, minor bruising, and mild discomfort at the injection site. Discomfort and swelling is temporary and generally disappears after a few days. With lip enhancement, swelling may last up to a week in some individuals.

How long does it last?

Restylane lasts about 6-9 months. Restylane can last 45% longer when used in conjunction with Botox in areas such as:
Frown lines
Marionette lines
Nasolabial lines
Smokers (perioral) lines
