Achieving the look you desire is as easy as it is quick. The result is instantaneous. No previous skin test is needed, which means that you can have the treatment immediately. The session often takes less than thirty minutes. The time differs somewhat depending on the correction you want to have performed. During treatment, RESTYLANE is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. When injected into the skin, RESTYLANE produces volume that smoothes the wrinkle or fold, shapes the facial contour or enhances the lips in a natural way. The result is immediate. The method of injecting RESTYLANE is fast and safe and leaves no scars or other traces on the face.

After Treatment
Immediately after the treatment, you can expect a slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection.The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. When it comes to lip augmentation, the swelling may last longer. Some patients experience swelling for about a week. During this time, the lips can look somewhat uneven. This means that the result directly after the treatment should not be regarded as the final result. If the discomfort continues or if other reactions occur, you should always contact your practitioner.

One of the great advantages of RESTYLANE is that it is long-lasting, but not permanent. Unlike permanent treatments or implants, RESTYLANE always leaves you with the option of re-evaluating your needs when the initial effect has worn off. With RESTYLANE, you will always have the option of continuing or changing the combination of treatments. A follow-up can be performed at any time you like after the previous treatment.

Non-animal
As RESTYLANE is a totally non-animal product, there is no risk of eliciting allergic reactions. Unlike other injectable products for wrinkle treatment and lip enhancement (for example collagen made from cow hide and hyaluronic acid made from rooster combs), RESTYLANE is a non-animal product. This means that there is no risk of transmitting disease or eliciting allergic reactions if you are sensitive to common foods, such as beef, chicken or eggs.

Unique product
RESTYLANE is the only injectable dermal filler containing NASHA, Non-Animal, Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. When RESTYLANE breaks down, water takes its place. When totally absorbed, RESTYLANE turns into water and carbon dioxide and disappears without leaving any trace in your body.

Side Effects
The most commonly reported side effects are temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. Other less common side effects may include small bruises at the site of injection or possible recurrence of facial cold sores (this only applies to individuals that have had cold sores in the past).

To reduce your risk of bruising we recommend avoid using aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s Wort, and high does of Vitamin E prior to your treatment.

We also recommend to patients with a history of facial cold sores starting a course of oral acyclovir prior to Restylane injection.

To optimize your comfort during the procedure we offer regional nerve blocks to anesthetize the treatment area(s).

RESTYLANE lasts six months or even longer.

Evidence shows that having a touch-up treatment before the product has fully dissipated will enhance the lasting effect.
